Everywhere we go we are affected by the energies that surround us. They can come from the people we interact with, as well as the places that we visit. We also carry our own energy everywhere we go!
Have you ever arrived somewhere and “felt” the energy that place has? Or have you ever met someone and had the feeling that there was something wrong without being able to explain it?
Energy can be positive, but it can also be negative and make us feel sad, anxious or down and affect us in many ways. If you ever feel that you need to protect yourself from these “dark energies” or if you feel you don’t want anything to affect you in a bad way, no matter where you go, you can use crystals like amethysts. They can help you transform negativity into positivity just by carrying one with you!
Amethysts have a very important function among crystals: transmuting everything that’s negative into positive. It is a type of quartz and its color is usually violet (the intensity of the color will depend on how much iron is present in the rock). Its name comes from the Greek word “Amethystos” which means “the one who isn’t drunk” because it was used in ancient Greece as a remedy for hangovers.
For me, the transmutation of energy by amethysts is exactly like eliminating a hangoveras the ancient Greeks believed. It is like cleansing your soul from bad things. Many believe that amethysts help purify your aura and detoxify your spirit. They help you relax and rejuvenate your mind and body like a “crystal spa”.
Amethysts are beautiful rocks (at least I believe they are since my favorite color is purple and they are shiny and glossy)! Even back in ancient Egypt they were used to make jewelry and for decorating the tombs of the pharaohs. It is also believed that Egyptian soldiers used to take amethysts with them to preserve their bravery in battles.
These crystals are also commonly used in Feng Shui to avoid negativity. It is believed that whoever carries an amethyst with them will be protected from any evil and will achieve emotional balance. In a way, it is protecting us from our own negative thoughts too!
I’m sure now that you will want to have an amethyst with you all the time, right? You can take this beautiful crystal with you as is, in its raw rock form, but you can also take it with you everywhere you go as a jewel. I personally can’t decide whether I prefer to take an amethyst with me as earrings or as a bracelet. Which one do you like best?
